I would just see if you can download the latest software and drivers for the card you have ( from BM ) and see if that solves your problem. But I have no desire to waste time doing it at this point. I did a test from BMPCC using HDMI to SDI converter ( new one ) to see if the SDI IN would work for capture ( using resolve ) and it will work ( recognizes card, etc. If you are using Avid, Blackmagic and/or AJA hardware video devices, please start by. I don't have a studio environment where I 'capture' anything to the computer directly. Blackmagic Design Desktop Video is the driver that is required in order for Livestream Producer and Livestream Studio software to recognize video inputs. This stuff is really complicated for an idiot like me, but I got it working well using Resolve for output. Includes H.264, ProRes and DNx video formats. Although the Desktop Video 11.5 drivers are unsupported yet for this Ubuntu-mate 20.04 release (kernel 5.4), it installs fine and even works (self tested) for some Blackmagic Cards 'DeckLink SDI / Decklink SDI 4K (full duplex)/ Intensity Pro 4K (full duplex)' as in IO for OBS-studio 25.03 or CasparCG server. It's trying to be OK for adobe and resolve now, etc. Introducing the perfect desktop recorder/player for ATEM Mini switchers. Blackmagic Design capture and playback products work with some of the world’s best software via the freely available Desktop Video SDK. That got changed over the years cause people didn't like it. It used to be that even in Resolve ( 12 ? ) you had to use BM presets to start projects in order to use the card properly. Namely, get drivers and software from BM ( current stuff now available online from BM ) and install THAT for the 4k pro card. It's hard enough getting stuff to work with Resolve. I only have old CS6 creative suite and wouldn't even try to mess around with it to capture or play from that card. Blackmagic Design Desktop Video 10.4.1 Adds support for HDMI Deep Color output on Intensity Pro 4K Improved compatibility for UltraStudio Mini Recorder in. Using Resolve I can see ( via SDI out) a video monitor ( not a computer monitor or TV monitor ) what is on Resolve timelines, etc. Think it's a fairly new PCI-E thing in the 8X slot. I have a BM card in PC with SDI in and out.
